Seed Collecion
Every Fall we go to grandmother oak trees throughout Addison county and collect thousands of Acorns. We aim to collect from trees that are over 400 years old. A single tree can provide up to 10,000 acorns and potential seedlings.

Seed Germintation
All Oak seeds need to go through a process called cold stratification before they can germinate and grow into seedlings. Through a prolonged cold period in conjunction with proper moisture control our acorns are ready for planting in early April.
Time in the Nursery
We let out oaks stay in the ground for approximately 1 and half years. Upon sale these seedings are between 6-12 inches and should be planted in the spring time between May and June. Best success for the trees comes with the combination of tree gaurds.
